Our Sunday Dinner
Dinner Sunday included grilled turkey burgers, Amy's special pasta salad, and home fries.
I let the grill get up to about 500 before throwing the burgers on. They were seasoned with salt, pepper, and weber's Chicago Steak seasoning. Oh, and Paprika! They cooked for 4 minutes on one side and 3 on the other. I closed my ember guard when I flipped them to keep the temperature from climbing too fast.
Amy made the pasta salad. It's her specialty, and quickly became one of my favortie side dishes. She improvised a little bit. We didn't have any of the spiral pasta (I don't know what it's called lol) so she used mostaccoli. Here's a close up.
I cut up the potatoes and she seasoned them with salt, cracked pepper, garlic powder, and a little paprika. We put them on a cookie sheet and baked them for 20 minutes in the oven at 450. If I had to do it over again, I'd have wrapped them in foil and butter and thrown them on the fire directly and roasted the burgers on the secondary grid after 10 minutes. Then I might have tried reverse searing them. Either way the potatoes came out pretty tasty.
I think I'll be able to cook multiple things in a timely manner with more practice. Practice doesn't only make perfect. It breeds confidence. I'll keep on working at it, you can count on that!
